Adjective

[edit]

wanha

  1. (sometimes humorous) Archaic spelling of vanha.
Wanha Kahwihuone palvelee arkisin aamukuudesta iltaseitsemään.
Ye Olde Coffee Shoppe is open on weekdays from 6 AM to 7 PM.
Tää puhelin on niin wanha ettei tässä ole edes kameraa.
This phone is so ye olde that it doesn't even have a camera

Usage notes

[edit]
  • In a non-internet context, wanha is chiefly used in the names of businesses to communicate an air of old-fashionedness or tradition; similar to ye olde in English. Can also be used colloquially in a jocular fashion to emphasize that something is old or outmoded.
