Inherited from Ottoman Turkish اوزون بویلو[1] or اوزون بویلی (uzun boylu),[2] from اوزون (uzun) and بوی (boy),[3][4] equivalent to uzun (tall, long) +‎ boy (length, size) +‎ -lu, literally tall of stature, long in length.
