[edit]From Ottoman Turkish صیزندی (ṣızındı, “oozings, tricklings, ozzings of secrets or information”),[1] from Ottoman Turkish صیزنمق (ṣızınmaḳ, “to ooze gently and continuously”), from Ottoman Turkish صیزمق (ṣızmaḳ, “to ooze, to trickle, (for secrets) to leak out, (for a drunken or sleepy person) to sink into unconsciousness”), from Proto-Turkic *sïŕ- (“to melt, to drip, to slowly flow”),[2] morphologically sız- + ın + -tı.
