- grate (horizontal metal grill through which liquid, ash, or small objects can fall, while larger objects cannot)
- grate (protective device made of iron, consisting of intersecting, mostly cylindrical rods, in front of or above an opening)
- barbecue, grill, gridiron (cooking device comprising a source of radiative and convective heat and a means of holding food above it)
- broiler, grill (cooking device comprising a source of radiative heat and a means of holding food under it)
