Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *tśeu-, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱey- (to put, set in motion; be on the move). Cognate with Ancient Greek σεύω (seúō, to actuate) and Latin cieō (to set in motion). An intensive formation with the Albanian prefix ndër-. Doublets include cys and qoj.
