Literally, words’ book of modern language. Created from nútímamáls (modern language, genitive singular of nútímamál) +‎ orðabók (dictionary).

  1. A modern language dictionary; a dictionary which describes a language as it is currently used, as opposed to how it was used in the past.
    Þótt ég virði vinnuna sem var lögð í þessa orðabók vil ég ennþá heldur íslensku nútímamálsorðabókina.
