    Inherited from Sanskrit क्षेत्र॑ (kṣétra), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *ćšáytram, from Proto-Indo-European *tḱey- + *-trom. Cognate with Prakrit 𑀔𑁂𑀢𑁆𑀢 (khĕtta), 𑀙𑁂𑀢𑁆𑀢 (chĕtta).
