Etymology

[edit]

Probably a doublet-formation from ildomtalan (unreasonable, foolish (1416); imporper (1859)) by dropping the internal -l- of the word. Itself is probably borrowed from Turkish + -talan (-less, without, adjective-forming suffix). First attested in 1784.[1]
