From Tajik дирам (diram), from Persian درم (deram), from Middle Persian 𐭦𐭥𐭦𐭭 (drahm [ZWZN]), from Ancient Greek δραχμή (drakhmḗ). Doublet of dram, drachma, dirham, dirhem, and adarme.
