Inherited from Ottoman Turkish دیكنه (dikine),[1] from دیك (dik),[2] equivalent to dik (vertical, upright; perpendicular) +‎ -i (possessive suffix) +‎ -(n)e (dative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant).
