[edit]From Malay cukai (“tax”), from Tamil சுங்கம் (cuṅkam). Displaced Dutch accijnzen, accijns (“excise”) by Komisi Bahasa Indonesia as published on Kanpō/Berita Pemerintah No.38 Year III Month 3 (2604) in 1944.
