[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بركنتی (birikinti, “an assemblage, a gathering, a collected mass”),[1] from Ottoman Turkish بركمك (birikmek, “to come together, to assemble”), from Proto-Turkic *bīrik- (“to unite, to come together”), from *bīr (“one”),[2] morphologically birik- + -in + -ti.
