arpatitu

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Volscian

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

Possibly from Proto-Indo-European *kʷeh₁t- (to shake). Compare Ancient Greek ἐπιπάσσω (epipássō, to sprinkle). Alternatively, it may derive from Proto-Indo-European *peth₂- (to spread out). If so, the term would be a cognate with Latin pateo. The term may be prefixed with the Volscian equivalent of ad, which may have transformed into *ar.

Verb

[edit]

arpatitu (3rd person singular future active imperative)

  1. The meaning of this term is uncertain. Possibilities include: sprinkle, spread
