Tasks

[edit]

Portuguese

[edit]

Pronunciation sections

[edit]
  • Creation of a {{pt-pr}} template
  • Clean-up addition and categorization of rhymes
  • Creation of audios, starting with common words

Entries for superseded forms

[edit]
  • Usage note templates for accents in pre-11/43 forms
  • Template for obsolete forms
  • Document what changed in each Portuguese reform. Wikipedia’s summaries are unreliable.

Entries for names and hypocoristics

[edit]
  • Add and update archaistic and pseudoarchaistic spellings (e.g., Luiz, Gabriella, Thiago)
  • Add [and update] hypocoristic forms (e.g., Lu, Gabi, Gab)
  • Make categories for Portuguese archaistic spellings and Portuguese hypocoristic forms
  • Possible creation of templates to facilitate the above.

Treatment of English borrowings

[edit]
  • Creation of a page detailing “anglo-portuguese” pronunciation (e.g., the use of nasal diphthongs IPA(key): [ãj̃, ãw̃])
  • Potential creation of a template/category to use in borrowings from English that have been adapted by respelling (e.g., suingue, blecaute, uísque).
    • Could be used in the definition instead of “alternative spelling,” or in the etymology instead of “borrowing”. In the latter case, it could be a counterpart to {{ubor}}, distinguishing between adaptation by addition of suffix vs. by respelling.

Specific entries
