Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --EncycloPetey 03:31, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not de-link sections. It is not redundant to link from the English section of a page to the Latin section. The various language sections on pages are treated as if they were separate pages here. --EncycloPetey 03:31, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wiktionary doesn't work that way. We add the links now, even if the target page or section does not yet exist. We want to encourage the addition of more pages and entries. This is why you'll see lots of red links in some places. And, no, the page does not yet deal with Latin; only the English section currently exists. When the LAtin section exists, it will already have been linked from the English section by virtue of the {{term}} template (which is the standard template for all etymology sections). --EncycloPetey 03:36, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
