Template talk:el-nN-ο-α-3b
Add topicDear @Saltmarsh. Could this Category be changed to πρόσωπο (as in DSMG Ο40). Because βούτυρο is a classic example of nouns like κόκαλο. ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 14:40, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Sarri.greek of course! Μπαμπι (always my first port of call) strikes again! Searching Google books shows that both genitives are common. Thanks for noticing. — Saltmarsh. 05:22, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Sarri.greek I've started making changes and willl leave the old cat until the new one is totally populated.— Saltmarsh. 05:28, 30 August 2020 (UTC)

It has one more genitive
[edit]Dear @Saltmarsh. Sorry that I bother you with proposals for changes.
This template has one more genitive singular, checked at google: it is very usual nowadays, but not mentioned in dictionaries and grammars of previous decades.
- ΄-ο ΄ου/΄-ου ΄-ο ΄-ο ΄-α ΄ων ΄-α ΄-α
- το πρόσωπο, του προσώπου & πρόσωπου (the steady accent is the addition), πρόσωπο, πρόσωπο
- τα πρόσωπα, των προσώπων, πρόσωπα πρόσωπα
The gen.plural is still what it was. We do not see many persistent accents there.
There are very few words with only ONE genitive singular with recessive accent, and for reasons of not confusing with homophones with different sense.
- the άλογο (horse), του αλόγου as the Template is now. Not to confuse it with neuter of άλογος (irrational): το άλογο, του άλογου (gen.sg.neu.)
- and probably few 'old' words. We are still looking for more at Κατηγορία 'άλογο'
I do not know how this Category:άλογο could be named, to separated it from the Category:Greek nouns declining like 'πρόσωπο'.
PS. Also, would you consider renaming Category:Greek nouns declining like 'κόκαλο' το 'βούτυρο' which is much more characteristic, and is the same for the el.wikt Cat Thank you: all this is not urgent at all. ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 10:23, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Sarri.greek "Ευτυχισμένος ο καινούριος χρόνος" (remonds me that Ευτυχία was our contact on Paxos, a cheerful name to go with her personality. A lot seems to have happened since then.) So, to business;
- 1. Change
{{el-nN-ο-α-3b}}
to "new" paradigm, keeping the "model term" πρόσωπο (prósopo)
old paradigm | ΄-ο | ΄ου | ΄-ο | ΄-ο | ΄-α | ΄ων | ΄-α | ΄-α | {{el-nN-ο-α-3b}}
|
Template:el-link |
new paradigm | ΄-ο | ΄ου/ ΄-ου | ΄-ο | ΄-ο | ΄-α | ΄ων | ΄-α | ΄-α | {{el-nN-ο-α-3b}}
|
Template:el-link |
- 2. Create a new template like the old
{{el-nN-ο-α-3b}}
named{{el-nN-ο-α-3c}}
new template | ΄-ο | ΄ου | ΄-ο | ΄-ο | ΄-α | ΄ων | ΄-α | ΄-α | {{el-nN-ο-α-3c}}
|
Template:el-link |
- It will be easy to move "the few"
- 3 Change the model term for
{{el-nN-ο-α-3ab}}
:
΄-ο | ΄ου/΄-ου | ΄-ο | ΄-ο | ΄-α | ΄ων/΄-ων | ΄-α | ΄-α | {{el-nN-ο-α-3ab}}
|

- These changes are easy, so please come up with any others. Changing the model term for a paradigm is particularly easy. Perhaps they should match those on Βικι. — Saltmarsh🢃 11:14, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so much, @Saltmarsh. axxx I wish 2022 be better for everyone!! Thank you for instructions. But I would not change it without your OK!!!
- Ι have already added a vocative for adjectives like δημοφιλής (although Holton avoids the issue). I followed DSMG. ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 11:17, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Sarri.greek Do the vocatives other ης-ης-ες adjectives also exist? — Saltmarsh🢃 12:21, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Saltmarsh, of course. The -η is at the schoolbook, and both -η & -ης at Ε10 of DSMG paradigms. The reason it is avoided is 1) obviously it is rarely used in real life, 2) grammatically, the implication is, that the anicent is ending in -ες (see anc. ἀσθενής, masculine voc).So, some grammars avoid it altogether.
- But one might use a phase like A!!! my δημοφιλή/δημοφιλής friend! Everyone loves you! ‑‑Sarri.greek ♫ | 12:28, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
