Usage
This template generates the possessive forms of Hungarian nouns with the following characteristics:
- Their final letter is a consonant: telefon (“phone”).
- They form their second-person possessive plural by adding -otok: telefonotok (“your phone”).
The possessive template should be placed after the ====Declension==== header, under the regular declension template.
Unnamed parameters
1=
- stem, remains unchanged in all forms. If the noun shortens or drops a vowel, provide the modified stem.
2=
- either blank or j; if the singular noun uses j in third-person, provide j, otherwise blank
- az ő otthona - his/her home
- az ő telefonja - his/her phone
3=
- ai or jai, the third-person singular possessive ending for a plural noun
- az ő otthonai - his/her homes
- az ő telefonjai - his/her phones
Named parameters
n=sg
- add this parameter if the noun has only singular possessive forms. The plural column will contain dashes.
n=pl
- add this parameter if the noun has only plural possessive forms. The singular column will contain dashes.
j=y
- add this parameter if the noun can be inflected two ways: with or without -j-. The two forms will be separated by a new line within the same table cell.
