Here's my interpretation of the various senses:

1. From escama (“scale; flake”).
   1. (transitive) to flake (to break or chip off in a flake) [seen in GDLC, DIEC]
   2. (transitive, Valencian) to scale (to remove the scales of) [DNV]

      Synonym: escatar

2. From Spanish escamar.
   1. (transitive, Valencian) to scold [DNV, DCVB]

      Synonyms: renyar, (Valencian) bonegar

   2. (transitive, Valencian) to teach a lesson [DNV, DCVB]

      Synonyms: escarmentar, escalivar

3. From cama.
   1. (reflexive, obsolete?) to escape, to make off [DCVB]

      Synonym: fugir

   2. (reflexive, obsolete?) to run around (to be very busy doing many different things) [DCVB]

@Jberkel, Ultimateria It's fine. Sense 2.2 is an alternative form of escamnar per Spanish interference. See DDLC. It is also an alternative form of escamnar a new 2.3 with sense "make suspicious" or "distrust", see DCVB 1.1. For 3.1 and 3.2 instead of obsolete I would say it is Balearic. --Vriullop (talk) 18:57, 19 March 2020 (UTC)
