@Vahagn_Petrosyan: This makes sense, the fact that ჭლაკვი (č̣laḳvi) and რუსული ჭლაკვი (rusuli č̣laḳvi, literally Russian allium fistulosum) refer to the same thing means that the word obviously used to have a different meaning, perhaps referring to some kind of allium with fully developed bulb; perhaps it's even simpler: they kind of look similar. Wrt. Svan, I was reading Chukhua yesterday, but he didn't really explain why (l) was dropped, but by my own observations ჭლ (č̣l) is very rare in Svan. I'm not sure how to "streamline" this etymology tbh, but I'd say Adyghe and Abkhaz are the closest in form to Mingrelian. კვარია (talk) 10:15, 31 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Since the route of descendance is uncertain, it is better to use the wording "ultimately from" and "der" instead of "bor". Also, I will put the languages which could borrow directly from Northwest Caucasian not under Georgian but in the general list at щӏэрыкӏуэ (śʼɛrəkʷʼɛ). Vahag (talk) 19:32, 1 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
