I find it unbelievable that the two senses are separate. Compare Old Armenian ծաղիկ (całik, “flower; smallpox”), Turkish çiçek (“flower; smallpox”). --Vahag (talk) 15:43, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hmmm... I see, you're right. The Chinese apparently described smallpox as beautiful flowers. Then the meaning of "flower" probably developed later, but is now the primary one. კვარია (talk) 15:47, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
