@Vahagn_Petrosyan: Related to Old Armenian կիզում (kizum)? Its root is considered kēz-, is that significant? Also, Nicodene put the head as "*guz- ~ *gz-". If memory serves me right, the tilda specifies ablaut on reconstruction pages? @კვარია: As always, Acharyan had noticed the similarity but dismissed it as accidental. I beleive he is right, as guz-, giz-, gz- would all give Armenian **gz-.
I think we use ~ for any alternation, including ablaut. I was going to ask you to use the tilde instead of the <:>. Vahag (talk) 17:13, 29 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
