[edit]From *groza + *-ьnъ, speculated to be of onomatopaeic origin.[1] Cognate with Lithuanian gražus (“beautiful”), Latvian grezns (“splendid”) and possibly akin to Ancient Greek γοργός (gorgós, “terrifying”), Irish garg (“harsh, wild”).
