Usage notes
[edit]This word translates Koine Greek ฯแฟฯฮฟฯ (sรฎtos), as does ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ (kaurn), which is related to various Germanic words for "grain"; Lehmann (1986) accordingly glosses the latter as "grain, wheat". The word treated here seems to only be used for the plant, and ๐บ๐ฐ๐ฟ๐๐ฝ (kaurn) only for its grains.
