Usage notes
[edit]Of the many Korean names for the Korean language, this is the most formal in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea). 조선어 (joseoneo) is more commonly used, but it denotes the Korean language in general (어 (eo, “language”)). In South Korea, 한국어 (han'gugeo) is more common.
