Usage notes
[edit]Intransitive; usually takes the particle 에 (e). Chiefly used in connective forms such as 의하여 (uihayeo) and 의하면 (uihamyeon). It is prominently used as an element for constructing passive sentences. Its usage as a marker of the agent noun in passive sentences is often considered to be a Japanese influence.
