Usage notes

[edit]

Intransitive; usually takes the particle (e). Chiefly used in connective forms such as 의하여 (uihayeo) and 의하면 (uihamyeon). It is prominently used as an element for constructing passive sentences. Its usage as a marker of the agent noun in passive sentences is often considered to be a Japanese influence.
