Noun
[edit]國軍
Proper noun
[edit]國軍
- (historical) Short for 國民革命軍/国民革命军 (“National Revolutionary Army”).
- (Taiwan, military, used by the Kuomintang) Republic of China Armed Forces
Usage notes
[edit]This term is primarily used by the Kuomintang and its supporters in Taiwan. The CPC in mainland China, as well as the DPP in Taiwan use 臺軍 / 台军 (Táijūn) instead, but for different reasons; the CPC does not recognise the legitimacy of the Republic of China, while the DPP use 臺軍 / 台军 (Táijūn) to indicate that it is referring to the Taiwanese and not Chinese military.
