From ᄒᆞ라 (hawra, formal, non-polite imperative of ᄒᆞ다 (hawda, to do)) +‎ 체(體) (che, style). Calque of Korean 해라체 (haerache).

Usage notes

ᄒᆞ라체 is a speech level used to younger or lower-rank people. It is also used almost universally in books, newspapers, and magazines.

Jeju words inflected in this speech level are commonly characterized by the endings (-da) in declarative statements, / (-nya/-ya) & / (-ni/-i) in questions, 으라 (-eura) in the imperative, and in (-ja) in the propositive. E.g.:
