From Proto-Lolo-Burmese *V-ci:tᴸ (goat, sheep), from Proto-Tibeto-Burman *r-tsit (goat, beard, goatee, yak-hair). Cognate with Lashi choyt, Nuosu (chyt, goat), Japhug tsʰɤt (goat), Naxi ceel (goat), Drung vchit (goat) (STEDT).
