Etymology

From อสังหาริม (“immovable”) +‎ ทรัพย์ (sáp, “thing; property”); calque of English immovable property.

Probably first used on 11 November 1923, when the first book of the Civil and Commercial Code of Thailand was promulgated.

     มาตรา ๑๓๙ อสังหาริมทรัพย์ หมายความว่า ที่ดิน และทรัพย์อันติดอยู่กับที่ดินมีลักษณะเป็นการถาวรหรือประกอบเป็นอันเดียวกับที่ดินนั้น และหมายความรวมถึง ทรัพยสิทธิอันเกี่ยวกับที่ดินหรือทรัพย์อันติดอยู่กับที่ดินหรือประกอบเป็นอันเดียวกับที่ดินนั้นด้วย
