Etymology

    Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀳𑀇 (sahaï), from Sanskrit सह॑ते (sáhate), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *sáȷ́ʰatay, from Proto-Indo-European *seǵʰ-. Cognate with Bengali সহা (śoha), সওয়া (śoōẇa), Assamese সহা (xoha).
