Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Aryan *śláwkas, from Proto-Indo-European *ḱlew- (“to listen, to hear”). Related to शृणोति (śṛṇoti, “to hear”) and श्रवण (śravaṇa, “hearing”).
