शारि
Appearance
Sanskrit
[edit]Pronunciation
[edit]Etymology 1
[edit]Unknown. Undoubtedly related to Classical Persian سَار (sār), سَارِی (sārī, “starling”), Old Armenian սարեակ (sareak, “starling”).[1][2] More speculatively, compare Proto-Balto-Slavic *śárˀkāˀ (“magpie”), Proto-Germanic *hrabnaz (“raven”), Latin corvus (“raven”); if all related, this may be a Wanderwort.
