Etymology

    Borrowed from Classical Persian لَشْکَر (laškar).

    Displaced Old Hindi लसकर (lasakara). Cognate with Bengali লস্কর (loskor), Gujarati લશ્કર (laśkar), Marathi लष्कर (laṣkar), Punjabi ਲਸ਼ਕਰ (laśkar) / لَشکَر (laśkar), Sylheti ꠟꠡ꠆ꠇꠞ (lośxor).
