[edit]Although معاف کیجئے (mu'āf kījie) and other معاف (mu'āf) + imperative combinations are often translated as "sorry" or "excuse me", it should be noted that افسوس (afsos), in the form مجھے افسوس ہے (mujhe afsos hai) as well as the Anglicism سوری (saurī) are also commonly used.
