    1. form of the suffix ـی for words that end in the short vowel ـه (-e)
      مردانه (mardâne, masculine, manly) → ‎مردانگی (mardânegi, masculinity, manliness)
      برهنه (berahne, naked, nude) → ‎برهنگی (berahnegi, nudity)
      قاعده (qâ'ede, menstruating) → ‎قاعدگی (qâ'edegi, menstruation)

    Usually only forms nouns from adjectives. Most adjectives formed from nouns ending in -e use the non-joining form ـای (-i).
