[edit]Borrowed from Arabic غَلَيَان (ḡalayān, “boiling; rage”), verbal noun of غَلَى (ḡalā, “to boil”).

- boiling, ebullition, the process of changing the state of a substance from liquid to gas by heating it to its boiling point
- effervescence, the escape of gas from solution in a liquid, especially the escape of carbon dioxide from a carbonated drink
- (figuratively) excandescence, raging, a fit of rage, a display of a state of extreme, often uncontrollable, anger or fury
- Synonym: فوران (feverân)
