Onomatopoeic; from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀛𑀸𑀁𑀛 (*jhāṃjha).[1] Compare Gujarati ઝાંઝ (jhā̃jh), Marathi झांज (jhāñja), Sindhi جهانجهُه / झांझु, Odia ଝାଞ୍ଜ (jhāñja), Bengali ঝাঁজ (jhãj)
