Etymology

    From Middle Persian 𐭥𐭩𐭬𐭠𐭫 (wēmār, sick, ill), from Proto-Indo-European *wemh₁- (to spew, vomit) + ār (agent suffix). Cognate with Latin vomō (be sick, vomit), Northern Kurdish bîvêr.
