From س ب ع (s-b-ʕ); compare سَبْعَة (sabʕa), seven. Compare with Hebrew שבוע (šavúaʿ, week) derived from Hebrew שבע (šévaʿ, seven) and Classical Syriac ܫܒܘܥܐ (šaḇoʿā, week) derived from Classical Syriac ܫܒܥܐ (šaḇʿāʾ, seven).
