[edit]Borrowed from Polish trzeba. Compare Czech třeba, Ukrainian треба (treba). Ultimately from Proto-Slavic *terba.

- used to express necessity: (one) must, (one) has to, (it is) necessary, (one) needs (to) (impersonal, + dative)
- ня трэ́ба было́ так рабі́ць ― nja tréba byló tak rabícʹ ― it wasn't necessary to do that
