[edit]From Proto-Permic *münni, from Proto-Uralic *mene-. Cognates include Eastern Mari мияш (mijaš) and Finnish mennä.
Permic cognates include Komi-Zyrian мунны (munny) and Udmurt мыныны (mynyny).
