Etymology

First attested in 1712. Borrowed from Dutch boegseren, from Portuguese puxar, from Latin pulsāre. By surface analysis, букси́р (buksír) +‎ -овать (-ovatʹ) or -и́ровать (-írovatʹ).[1][2]
