[edit]From the patronimic Абаку́мыч (Abakúmyč), from the given name Абакум (Abakum), Аввакум (Avvakum), from Ancient Greek Ἀββακούμ (Abbakoúm), from Hebrew חֲבַקּוּק (khavakúk, “Habakkuk”).
