[edit]From μισαλλόδοξος (misallódoxos, “bigot”), derived from μισῶ (misô, “to hate”) + ἀλλόδοξος (allódoxos, “allodox”). In turn from ἄλλος (állos, “other”) + δόξα (dóxa, “belief”). First attested in 1826.[1]
