[edit]From Byzantine Greek κρεβάτι(ο)ν (krebáti(o)n), from Koine Greek κραβ(β)άτιον (krab(b)átion), from a diminutive of Ancient Greek κράββατος (krábbatos).
Cognate with Mariupol Greek крева́ть (krjevátʹ).
