[edit]From ζωγρᾰφῐκός (zōgraphikós): as a noun, a substantivisation of its feminine forms in elliptical use for ἡ ζωγρᾰφῐκὴ τέχνη (hē zōgraphikḕ tékhnē, “the painting craft”); as an adjective, regularly declined forms.Zography means literally the writing of life.
