[edit]Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek ἐπενδύω (ependúō) / ἐπενδύνω (ependúnō) with semantic loan from French revêtir and investir and English invest.[1] By surface analysis, επ- (ep-) + ενδύω (endýo).
