Etymology

Learned borrowing from Koine Greek ἐξαντλῶ (exantlô), from Ancient Greek ἐξαντλέω (exantléō, empty out, endure to the end), with semantic loan from French (s’)épuiser.[1] By surface analysis, εξ- (ex-) +‎ αντλώ (antló).
