Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek διακινδῡνεύω (diakindūneúō, to be exposed to great danger), with semantic loan from English endanger.[1] By surface analysis, δια- (dia-) +‎ κίνδυν(ος) (kíndyn(os)) +‎ -εύω (-évo).
