[edit]Learned borrowing from Ancient Greek ἀστρονομικός (astronomikós, “skilled in astronomy”) with semantic loan from French astronomique.[1] By surface analysis, αστρονομ(ία) (astronom(ía)) + -ικός (-ikós).
